Verian Thomas : Poem

KURDT OUT UTERO

Angel wings clipped,
before he learned to fly,
shrivelled to flipper baby stumps.

The demon with the pitchfork
said, "you can't kill me son,"
twisted words in his gut.

Followed the tracks
in search of oblivion
found it in black cancer tar.

Dying to die.

Caught in the circle,
sent tumbling towards
the needle and the gun.
Sighed an eternal sigh.

Dumb.
