Daniel Crocker: poem

CONSOLATION PRIZE

Lynn used to get upset
b/c i never wrote poems about her
only the other women,
like Kate,
I tried to explain
it's hard, but not impossible,
to write about someone
who is making you happy

Then she left
and told me that I forced her to it
w/ drinking, etc.
the usual bit
she cried and I was sorry
but, I got a consolation prize:
Honey, I write about you
all the time now.
