Knowledge of the Dead

I am reticent about misnomers for the plague.
Your tongue in your mouth
like a canoe
sinking in a grotto.
Something bubonic is going on around
the gnats swarming in my head.
It is nothing
but the possibility of all those corpses
on an afternoon
when we are going to the museum to study
the dead.
