Instructions for My Imagination

Place a woman in a river
float her belly-side-up
make the river home to crocodiles
make the woman safe
make her someone
who hands snacks to crocodiles
chunks of thigh
warm intestines
make her someone who hands snacks
to anything in need of snacks
give her a mangy mane
call her an equine mermaid
make her face supernatural
fixed like a mare in sleep
